Jay Sukow has been performing with and without a script for the over 20 years. Some of those he has trained with include Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Jon Favreau, David Razowsky, Keith Johnstone, Charna Halpern, Dick Schaal, Del Close and Mick Napier.
Before joining the faculty at M.i.'s Westside Comedy Theater, Jay was a faculty member of The Second City, where he also performed regularly as part of their “Those Who Can’t” Faculty Jam. He was also a faculty member iO Chicago, where he was also head of its artistic committee and coached several house teams. Additionally, Jay has taught for ComedySportz Chicago, as well as festivals throughout the US. Jay teaches improv to people from every walk of life, from begin- ning students to executives at Fortune 100 companies.
Jay has toured as a part-timer with Mission IMPROVable, was on several Harold teams at iO Chicago, and an ensemble member of ComedySportz Chicago. He has been a guest performer at Boom Chicago, the Second City, the Second City ETC, the Second City Northwest and Messing with a Friend, as well as several improv festivals. Jay was honored to be a guest on “Improv Nerd with Jimmy Carrane,” “Whether the Weather” “Improv Sound Off”, “SDI”, “Smeared, Inc.”, “MBSing”, “The Make It Up” and guest #791 on “1000 Scenes.”
